The 2011 USATF Oregon Road Race Grand Prix continued on June 18th, 2011 in Portland, Oregon with the USATF Oregon 1 Mile Road Race Championships.

Below are the Top 3 USATF Oregon finishers as well as the top USATF Oregon Master finishers for the 1 mile race on the top of Mt. Tabor Park.

In the master’s division at the USATF Oregon 1 Mile Road Race Championships, Ian Gillespie, 41, from Beaverton of Bowerman AC, earned the Men’s Master 1 Mile Championship title with his finishing time of 4:32.12. On the women’s side, Janet Rothenthal, 42, of Portland, was the first Female Master USATF Oregon member to cross the finish line in 6:36.64. Congrats!

The 2^nd Annual USA Track & Field Member Appreciation Weekend will be held next week in Eugene, Oregon during the USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships June 23rd - June 26th . 

The goal of the USA Track & Field Member Appreciation Weekend is to show appreciation to USATF members for their support of the sport!

The USA Track & Field Member Appreciation Weekend will include the following Members-Only activities:

• Exclusive Hospitality Tent
• Ice Cream Socials
• Elite Athlete Autograph Signings  
• A FREE USATF Nike Dri-Fit Cotton Shirt for all USATF members! 

The hours for the Hospitality tent will be:

• Friday, June 24th: 9:00am – 8:00pm
• Saturday, June 25th: 11:00am – 8:00 pm
• Sunday, June 26th: 10:30am – 3:00pm

The USATF Oregon 1 Mile Road Race Championships event on Saturday 6/18 on top of Mt. Tabor Park in Portland, Oregon is fast apporching.

Online registration costs $15 and closes at 11:59pm Wednesday 6/15.

Participants can enter day of race (6/18) for $25 between 8:00am - 9:00am at the start line on the Harvey Scott Circle Rd on the summit of Mt. Tabor Park.

$900 of prize money is at stake for Open and Master competitors:

Portland Summer Trail Series!

Wildwood trail in Forest Park.

The recently created Portland Trail Series  coming to Forest Park this summer is sure to be a fantastic series of runs! This is a great opportunity to enjoy some competitive,  organized running in Portland's biggest park! 



The Portland Trail Series is a super-cool, low-key series of trail races that will be held in beautiful Forest Park.   A total of five races will be held every other Wednesday evening from August through October, and each race will cover a different, challenging course, ranging from 5-8 miles.  

Registration will begin in mid-June and will be limited to 100 runners per race.  

Entry fees will be only $50 for the 5-race series and $20 for an individual race.  To be the first to know when registration opens, send an email to portlandtrailseries@gmail.com with "notify" in the subject line.
